DeCavitch Earns MAC Gymnast of the Week

CLEVELAND, Ohio – Kent State freshman Rachel DeCavitch was named Mid-American Conference Gymnast of the Week for her outstanding performance in the Lindsey Ferris Invitational where she finished in first place on all four events and won the all-around with a score of 39.400.
DeCavitch blew away the competition in just her second collegiate meet, setting new career-highs on each event. She is the first gymnast to win all four events since Rachel Stypinski on Jan. 20, 2017 against Western Michigan. DeCavitch also posted the highest all-around score since Stypinski scored a 39.500 at the 2017 MAC Championships.
The Champion, Ohio native a 9.875 on both vault and beam, while adding an impressive 9.850 on floor and a 9.800 on bars. Her all-around score of 39.400 is tied for 18th in the country this season.
