
Kent State Set for Saturday’s MAC Cross Country Championships

The Kent State men's and women's cross country teams will travel for competition in the Mid-American Conference Championships on Saturday at the Bowling Green XC Course.
The women's 6K will start the day at 2 p.m. and the men's 8K will follow at around 3 p.m.
Last Time Out
Kent State opened the season at the Tommy Evans Invitational in Norton, Ohio on November 6.
Alex Stamper won the men's 8K race in a time of 24:46 to secure his first collegiate victory. Drew Johnson and Braxton Tate joined Stamper with top-10 finishes of their own. Johnson earned fifth place (25:22) while Tate took home ninth place (26:03).
The women's side saw a total team effort to beat rival Akron in the 6K race with five top-8 finishers. Leah Lisle paced the Flashes finishing in third place with a time of 22:30. Nicole Fleming (22:41) and Samantha Hyme (22:45) crossed the finish line shortly after to take fourth and fifth, respectively. Kalli Barrett came in seventh with a time of 23:39 and Maddie Dunlap finished in eighth (23:45).
Flashback to Last Year's MAC Championships
Nicole Fleming led all Golden Flashes, earning a 16th-place finish (22:31.8) in the women's 6K race. Leah Lisle also brought home a 43rd-place finish (23:11.2).
Drew Johnson paced the men, finishing in 19th-place (26:08.1), while Alex Stamper grabbed a 23rd-place finish (26:18.0).
The men's team took home ninth place in their 8K race, while the women's team earned an 11th-place finish.
