CLEVELAND, Ohio – Kent State redshirt senior TJ Lawson earned his second Mid-American Conference Men's Field Athlete of the Week honor in a row, the league office announced Tuesday afternoon.
Lawson posted the sixth-highest heptathlon score (5,885) in the world this year over the weekend at the Razorback Invitational while competing against a field that produced three of the top-25 collegiate heptathlon scores of all-time. He placed in the top-five in six of the seven events, including first place in the pole vault and runner-up finishes in the shot put and long jump. He set indoor personal-bests in the 60m (7.03), shot put (48'-3.25") and pole vault (15'-9").
The Golden Flashes will compete at the Akron Invitational this weekend (Feb. 7-8).
