
Price Wins Illini Women’s Invitational

MEDINAH, Ill. – Kent State senior Emily Price pulled away from the field on Tuesday to capture individual medalist honors at the Illini Women's Invitational by three strokes.
Price carded a 10-under, 206 during the two days of play at Medinah Country Club to tie for the third-lowest 54-hole total in program history. She shot under 70 in all three rounds, highlighted by a 68 in the second round. This is Price's second career win in just 10 events as a Golden Flash.
As a team, Kent State tied with host Illinois for sixth with a 6-under, 858. The Flashes' 4.01 average on par-4 holes was tied for the third lowest of the tournament.
Sophomore Mayka Hoogeboom surged up the leaderboard on Tuesday to tie for 18th. After registering one birdie and seven pars to conclude Monday's suspended second round, Hoogeboom shot 69 in the final round for her best 18-hole score at Kent State.
Fifth-year student-athlete Chloe Salort and freshman Jennifer Gu also had top-50 finishes. Salort totaled a 218 to tie for 37th and Gu shot 220 for a tie in 47th.
The Flashes will conclude the fall portion of the season at the Jim West Challenge in San Marco, Texas from Oct.17-18.
