Vandette Takes Home Co-Golfer of the Week Honors

KENT, OHIO- Fresh off his win at the Quail Valley Collegiate, Chris Vandette has been named the Mid-American Conference's Co-Golfer of the Week.
Vandette finished the 54-hole tournament at 14-under par to win the individual title by three strokes. His 54-hole total is tied for the fifth-lowest in program history. The junior was the lone golfer in the field to shoot all three rounds in the 60s, shooting 66-69-67. The Beaconsfield, Quebec handled everything that the Quail Valley Golf Club had in store for the golfers. Vandette played the par-3s at one under, the par-4s and four under and made quick work of the par-5s, playing them at a whopping nine-under par, he ranked in the top-10 in all three scoring averages and finished second in the field with his 18 birdies.
Vandette led three Kent State golfers who finished in the top-20 individually. Collectively, the Flashes finished second with a team score of 28 under par, the second-lowest team score in program history for 54 holes. It is a phenomenal way to close out the fall season, Kent State is back in action in February when they take part in South Alabama's Mobile Bay Invitational on February 14th and 15th.
