The Kent State men's and women's cross country teams will travel for competition in the Mid-American Conference Championships on Saturday at Eagle Crest Golf Club.
The championships kick off with the men's 8K at 11 a.m., followed by the women's 6K at 12 p.m.
Baidy Ba crossed the finish line first in the Golden Flashes' last race, winning the men's 8K at the Falcon Invitational in a time of 25:59.59. This was the third top-12 finish in four races for the freshman. Joe Farley led the men's squad in the season's first three races and has finished in the top 16 at all four meets. Drew Johnson, an All-MAC Second Team performer in 2020, is entered in his second race of the season and gives Kent State three runners who should contend for all-conference status.
Stephanie Ward has led the women's team in both races she has run this season, most recently placing fifth at the Falcon Invitational. Ward was an All-MAC performer during both of her seasons at Buffalo in 2016 and 2017. Leah Lisle has led the Flashes in the other first two races and is coming off an eighth-place showing at the Falcon Invitational.
Pending weather, fans can catch the finish line action on our stream via Eagle All-Access.
