
Volleyball Completes Weekend Sweep at Toledo

TOLEDO, Ohio — For the second day in a row, Kent State recorded a 3-0 (25-14, 25-19, 25-22) win over Toledo in a Mid-American Conference volleyball contest on Sunday.
The Golden Flashes (8-1) held the Rockets to a season-low .074 hitting percentage and totaled 10 blocks, their most in a three-setter this season. Juniors Lana Strejcek and Danie Tyson led the defensive effort at the net with five total blocks each, while junior Erin Gardner anchored the floor defense with 17 digs.
Sophomore Savannah Matthews finished with 16 digs and a match-high 17 kills. Sophomore Taylor Heberle added eight kills and sophomore Morgan Copley was right behind with seven. Redshirt junior Alex Haffner totaled 32 assists and nine digs.
Kent State will host unbeaten Bowling Green for two matches inside of the Basketball and Volleyball Development Center on Thursday, February 25 and Friday, February 26.
