
Kent State Posts Season-Best Blocking Performance in Five-Setter Against NIU

KENT, Ohio โ Kent State totaled a season-high 15 blocks in a 3-2 (25-14, 21-25, 25-27, 25-23, 12-15), setback to Northern Illinois as the final weekend of the season began on Friday at the M.A.C. Center.
Freshman Macie Moreland led the way with a career-high eight blocks. Redshirt sophomore Adalynn Ginley and sophomore Nadia Miller added seven and six blocks, respectively.ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย
The Golden Flashes (8-20, 3-14 MAC) had five different attackers post double-figure kills. Freshman Abbey Debevec had a career-high 14ย to lead the team, while junior Mercedez Brown, Ginley, Miller and Moreland totaled 10 apiece. Sophomore Kaelynn Burge led the way with a career-high 25 assists and junior Christina Vigil totaled 22.
Sophomore Hailey Brenner tallied 18 digs to lead the back row. Senior Greta Bolognini added 11 digs, while Burge (11) and Moreland (10) posted new career marks in the category.
Kent State and Northern Illinois will battle again in the season finale for both teams on Saturday, Nov. 15. First serve is scheduled for 4 p.m. and the Flashes' senior class will be recognized after the match.
