Kent State Finishes Ninth at Border Olympics

LAREDO, Texas.- The Kent State men's golf team finished the Border Olympics in nineth place with a three-round score of 897 (+33). The Flashes finished the round with a 300 (+12) score.
Cade Breitenstine led the Flashes with a tied for 19th finish at 221 (+8). Breitenstine finished the third round with a 75 (+3) score. Julien Paltrinieri shot a third round score of 74 (+2) and finished the tournament tied for 21st at 222 (+6).
Josh Gilkison placed tied for 27th at 224 (+8). Gilkison carded a 74 (+2) in the final round and fired two birdies.
Chris Vandette finished the day at 77 (+5) and finished the tournament at 230 (+14), good for tied for 57th, while Will Kurtz placed tied for 81st 238 (+22) after carding an 83 (+11) in the final round.
Kent State returns to action on March 14-16 as the Flashes compete in the General Hackler Collegiate in Myrtle Beach.
