Pasqualetti’s Pole Vault Title Highlights Women’s Track and Field’s Day 1 at MAC Indoor Championships

MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich. – The Kent State women's indoor track and field team had three athletes score points for the team standing and one athlete qualify back for finals on day 1 of the Mid-American Conference Indoor Track and Field Championships.
Leah Pasqualetti led the Golden Flashes with a championship effort, winning the pole vault title on misses with a height of 13' 7.75" for 10 points. Sami Ice earned a bronze medal, clearing 12' 6" for a new personal best and another six points in the team standings for Kent State.
Sarena Choi added four points with a fifth-place finish in the long jump, breaking 19' for the second time this season and finishing with a mark of 19' 0.5". Grace Luther earned a point in the weight throw, throwing 58' 6" for eighth place.
Mi'Angel Daniels qualified back to Saturday's 60-meter hurdles final, running 8.90 in her preliminary heat and qualifying as a result of finishing in the top two in her heat. She will enter the final seeded eighth.
The women's competition will resume on Saturday with the shot put and triple jump finals at 4:00 p.m. Action on the track will start at 4:25 p.m. with the mile and will conclude with the 4x400-meter relay at 6:30 p.m.
