McGinty Leads Flashes at Valspar Invitational

AUGUSTA, Ga.- Caley McGinty led the Flashes over the weekend at the Valspar Invitational with a 212 (-4) score and finished tied for 11th. Kent State finished the tournament tied for 11th after posting a 54-hole total of 882 (+18).
The Flashes shot a third round score of 298 (+10) to finish the tournament.
McGinty, moved up the leaderboard in the final round after she carded a 70 (-2). She went 15 holes for par or less and fired four birdies.
Kory Nielsen posted a 75 (+3) for the final round and finished tied for 40th with a 221(+5). Marissa Kirkwood finished tied for 50th with a 223 (+7) score after she posted a 74 (+2) final round score.
Valentina Albertazzi shot a 79 (+7) score for the third round and finished tied for 64th with a three-round score of 226 (+10). Chloe Salort, who competed as an individual, finished tied for 40th at 221 (+5). She finished the day with a 75 (+3) score.
Kent State returns to action Mar. 26-28 as the Flashes compete in the Clemson Invitational in South Carolina.
