
Flashes Finish Tied For Second at Rutherford Intercollegiate

STATE COLLEGE, Pa.- The Kent State men's golf team finished tied for second at the Rutherford Intercollegiate posting a 54-hole score of 859 (+7). This is the Flashes fourth tournament finishing in the top-3.
Cade Breitenstine led the Flashes with a 210 (-3) score and finished tied for fourth. Breitenstine carded a 70 (-1) in the final round after going 16 holes for par or better with three birdies. He led the team on par-4 holes (-3) and totaled 39 total pars.
Josh Gilkison finished the final round with 74 (+3) and finished the tournament tied for 12th at 216 (+3).
Julien Paltrinieri and Jared Wilson both finished tied for 30th at 220 (+7). Paltrinieri fired a 75 (+4) for the final round. Wilson birdied three times to finish the final round with a 71 (E) score.
Chris Vandette rounded out the lineup and carded a 76 (+5) for the final round and finished tied for 37th at 221 (+8).
Tournament host Penn State took first place at 852 (E) while Loyoyla Maryland shared second place with Kent State (+7).
Kent State will close out the regular season on April 24-25 as the Flashes compete in the Robert Kepler Intercollegiate hosted by Ohio State.
