Cade Breitenstine Leads Flashes on First Day of Kepler

COLUMBUS, Ohio- Sophomore Cade Breitenstine sits in first place after carding a 36-hole total of 138 (-4) at the Robert Kepler Intercollegiate.The Kent State men's golf team stands in fifth place at 579 (+11) through 36 holes. Darkness suspended the final few holes of the second round for the last three teams on the course. Play will restart at 7:30 a.m. Sunday and then the field will be re-paired for the final-round start time of 9 a.m.
Breitenstine fired an opening round of 68 (-3) after going 16 holes for par or better with five birdies, while carding a 70 (-1) in the second round.
Jared Wilson fired rounds of 73 (+2) and 71 (E) putting him at a tie for 15th place at 144 (+2). Josh Gilkison is tied for 42nd at 148 (+6) after he shot rounds of 73 (+2) and 75 (+4).
Julien Paltrinieri opened the round with a 72 (+1) and finished the day with a 78 (+7) and is tied for 54th at 150 (+2). Chris Vandette rounds out the lineup tied for 70th with a 154 (+12) score after rounds of 77 (+6) for the first and second.
