The Kent State field hockey team (5-3, 3-3 MAC) is set to host the Ball State Cardinals on Friday, April 9 and Saturday, April 10 at 1 p.m. at Murphy-Mellis Field.
The Flashes fell to Mid-American Conference leader Miami twice this past weekend. They look to rebound against the Cardinals in a series they have dominated recently, winning the last eight times the two teams have met.
SCOUTING BALL STATE
The Cardinals finished 2019 with a 5-13 overall record and are 5-5 to begin this Spring. They lost their leading point scorer from last season but return their next four in Rachel Pereira (9), Jenna McKune (6), Sierra Jefferson (6), and Angel Nkosi (4). Pereira has already almost matched her 2019 total through the first ten games this season registering 8 points.
THE SERIES
Last season, the Golden Flashes defeated Ball State 1-0. Kent State now holds a 36-33 all-time series advantage over the Cardinals.
