
No. 29 Kent State Places Seventh at Wolverine Invitational

ANN ARBOR, Mich. – The No. 29 Kent State women's golf team carded a collective 297 during Tuesday's final round at the Wolverine Invitational and finished seventh at the first tournament of the season.
The Golden Flashes shot 881 over the three rounds and were just three strokes off a top-five performance. Host Michigan was the only team that was under par and carded an 851 to claim the team title by 12 strokes.
All five golfers in Kent State's lineup finished in the top 50 of the 90-player field. Senior Emily Price carded a 75 on Tuesday and led the way in a tie for 29th (+8, 221). Freshman Jennifer Gu was one stroke behind after firing a 77 to tie for 33rd (222). Sophomore Mayka Hoogeboom closed strong with a 72 to match her lowest round as a collegian and move into a tie for 40th (+10, 223).
Fifth-year student-athlete Chloe Salort and junior Valentina Albertazzi both shot 13-over, 226 for the tournament to tie for 47th. Salort carded her second consecutive round of 73 on Tuesday and Albertazzi shot 78.
Competing as an individual, junior Noramol Nuchsila tied for 74th (+23, 236).
The Flashes will return to action Sept. 20-21 at the Mercedes-Benz Collegiate Championship, which will be hosted by Tennessee and played at Cherokee Country Club in Knoxville.
