
Farley’s PR Highlights Friday’s Action at YSU National Mid-Major Invite

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – Joe Farley was the first collegian across the finish line in the men's 5,000-meter run and was one of four Kent State competitors to post top-four finishes on Friday at the YSU National Mid-Major Invitational.
Farley broke the previous meet record in the 5K race and finished second in a personal-best time of 14:21.97. The sophomore posted the fastest time in the event by a Golden Flash runner since 2006 and the fifth-fastest time in program history.
Leah Pasqualetti won the women's pole vault for the second week in a row, clearing the bar at of 13'-4.25". Angelina Lotarski placed sixth with a height of 11'-0.75".
Brian Phillips and Jayda Singleton represented Kent State well in the long jump. Phillips took third in the men's competition with a jump of 23'-2.50" and Singleton's personal-best mark of 16'-6.50" was good for fourth place.
Sydney Gallagher was the Flashes' top runner in the women's 5K, placing seventh in a time of 18:04.12.
Weekend competition will conclude on Saturday with student-athletes in action at the YSU National Mid-Major Invitational and Penn State's Sykes and Sabock Challenge.
