MYRTLE BEACH, S.C... After a weather shortened Sunday in South Carolina, the Kent State men's golf team retained their spot on Monday to wrap up the General Hackler Championship in eighth place.
"The guys really showed up today and played some seriously good golf," KSU head coach Jon Mills said. "Once we figure out how to start strong look out, I think we finished with some strong momentum for the next event."
The Flashes were one of just eight teams to shoot under par for the tournament, led by 212 (-4) performances from both Gilkison brothers.
Kent State carded an 863 as a team for the event, seven strokes better than Liberty and Louisville who ranked higher than KSU going into the weekend.
The Flashes will be back in action on March 27-29 when the team returns to South Carolina for the Hootie Intercollegiate Championship
