
Track and Field Heads to SEC Country for Competition

The Kent State track and field program will have athletes competing in meets hosted by a pair of Southeastern Conference schools as the outdoor season continues this week.
Jacob Mally and Alexander Shields are slated for action in the decathlon at the Tennessee Relays on Thursday, April 7 and Friday, April 8. The Golden Flashes will send 40 additional athletes to LSU's Joe May Invitational on Saturday, April 9.
PREVIEWING THE FLASHES
Four Kent State student-athletes with national top-50 rankings this season are registered for action in Baton Rouge. Alexandre Malanda leads the way with a No. 12 ranking in the men's triple jump. Scott Benco is ranked 32nd in the men's javelin throw. Gabby Bailey has top-50 rankings in both the women's discus throw (No. 34) and women's shot put (No. 48). Jake Wickey ranks 40th nationally in the men's hammer throw.
Additional Golden Flashes slated for action who own top-3 Mid-American Conference rankings are Mi'Angel Daniels (women's 100-meter hurdles), Benja Duff (women's 100-meter hurdles), Lillie Franks (women's high jump), Jaheim Jones (men's 100-meter dash), Nolan Landis (men's discus throw), Leah Pasqualetti (women's pole vault), Grace Tennant (women's discus throw, javelin throw) and Lukas Van Der Watt (men's pole vault).
