Farley and Ba Lead Kent State at Spartan Invitational

EAST LANSING, Mich. — Junior Joe Farley and sophomore Baidy Ba raced to top-10 finishes at the Spartan Invitational on Friday.
Farley completed the 8K course at Forest Akers East Golf Course in a personal-best time of 24:45.45 to finish fifth. Ba also broke 25:00 for the first time, crossing the finish line in 25:57.71 to take 10th.
The men's squad finished fourth of 18 in the team standings. Redshirt junior Shadrack Kipkosgei ran a strong race with a time of 25:22.03 for 22nd. Junior Ethan Yost (69th) and sophomore Jonah Cuestas (88th) also finished in the top-100.
The women's team placed ninth out of 19 teams in the 6K race. Graduate student Leah Lisle led the way in 22nd with a time of 22:22.14. Sophomore Sydney Gallagher (66th), senior Nina Zraik (89th) and senior Nicole DiCicco (92nd) also finished in the top-100.
The Flashes will return to action on Saturday, Oct. 1 at the Live in Lou Classic in Louisville, Kentucky.
