Kent State Returns To Tennessee for Mercedes Benz Invitational

Knoxville, TENN... After kicking off their 25th season with a third-place finish at the Dick McGuire Invitational last week, the Kent State women's golf team, now ranked 46th in the nation, will travel to Tennessee for this year's Mercedes Benz Intercollegiate.
The Flashes will have their work cut out for them as nine of the 14 teams competing this week will also enter the tournament ranked in the top 50, including #5 Wake Forest, #9 Virginia, #19 Michigan and #28 Michigan State.
Mayka Hoogeboom will lead the way, fresh off a women's MAC Golfer of the Week nod and an individual win in Albuquerque a week ago. Kent State will also look for a strong showing from a pair of newcomers in Blanca Yague-Cuadros and Leon Takagi, competing in their second event for the blue and golf.
Monday's action is set to start at 8:35 ET and Kent State will be paired with Maryland and Augusta for the opening round. Live scoring all week long can be found on GolfStat.com.
