
Kent State Swept by BG in Friday Volleyball Action

BOWLING GREEN, Ohio –The Kent State volleyball team lost a Mid-American Conference road contest to Bowling Green, 3-0 (15-25, 11-25, 11-25) on Friday.
The Golden Flashes (5-16, 1-9 MAC) posted season-lows for total kills (23) and hitting percentage (.033) while the host Falcons hit .470 as a team.
Sophomore Mackenzie McGuire and freshman Logan Henderson shared the team lead with six kills each.
Senior Bryn Roberts led the defense with eight digs. Sophomore Sadie Wright assisted on both of the team's blocks.
How it Happened…
Set 1 (15-25): Bowling Green got a kill on the first point of the night before Kent State took a 2-1 lead on a service error and kill by Mackenzie McGuire. The Falcons won the next five points and used a 7-0 run later in the set to pull away.
Set 2 (11-25): A 9-1 run to start the set provided Bowling Green with a comfortable lead. The Falcons posted their most efficient offensive set of the night with a .609 hitting percentage.
Set 3 (11-25): After falling behind by five early, Kent State pulled within 7-6. Bowling Green countered with five straight points and later pulled away with an 8-0 run.

Kent State will go for the weekend series split against Bowling Green on Saturday, Oct.21 at 6 p.m.
