
Flashes Fall to Falcons 3-0

BOWLING GREEN, Ohio – Kent State lost to Bowling Green, 3-0 (17-25, 16-25, 11-25) in a Mid-American Conference volleyball contest on Saturday at the Stroh Center.
The Golden Flashes (5-17, 1-10 MAC) were led by sophomore Mackenzie McGuire, who totaled eight kills and 11 digs. Sophomore Kendall White recorded 24 assists. Senior Bryn Roberts had 10 digs.
How it Happened…
Set 1 (17-25): Logan Henderson and Burgundy Walters teamed for a block to tie it at 15-15 but Bowling Green won the next five points and closed on a 10-2 run.
Set 2 (16-25): An ace by Mackenzie McGuire gave Kent State its largest lead of the set at 8-6. The Falcons won the next two points to tie it and later went ahead for good, 14-11, with a three-point run. The Golden Flashes still only trailed by three on a kill by Walters but BG countered with an 8-2 run to go ahead 2-0.
Set 3 (11-25): Two kills by Karina Salinas and a BG attack error gave Kent State an early 3-2 lead. The Falcons took 11 of the next 13 points to take control of the set.
Up Next for the Flashes
Kent State is scheduled to play its next six contests against MAC West opponents, beginning with road matches against Ball State on Oct. 27 and Toledo on Oct. 28.
