
Kent State Volleyball Loses at Ball State

MUNCIE, Ind. – Kent State lost to Ball State, 3-0 (13-25, 14-25, 15-25) in a Mid-American Conference volleyball contest on Friday.
The Golden Flashes (5-18, 1-11 MAC) were led on offense by sophomore Mackenzie McGuire, who totaled 11 kills. Freshman Logan Henderson added seven kills. Senior Bryn Roberts tallied a team-best nine digs.
How it Happened…
Set 1 (13-25): Burgundy Walters got Kent State on the board with a kill after Ball State took the match's first five points. After falling behind by 10 points, the Golden Flashes went on a 4-1 run by were unable to sustain the comeback.
Set 2 (14-25): Two kills and two aces gave the Cardinals a 4-0 lead. The host recorded 16 kills on 25 attempts for a .640 hitting percentage in the set.
Set 3 (15-25): A kill by Mackenzie McGuire was followed by a Ball State attack error to give Kent State a 2-1 lead, but the Cardinals scored the next six points and began to pull away.
Up Next for the Flashes
Kent State remains on the road on Saturday with a match at Toledo. First serve is scheduled for 4 p.m.
