Kent State Travels to MAC Cross Country Championships in Bowling Green

Kent State hopes to peak at the right time as it competes at the 2023 Mid-American Conference Cross Country Championships, which will take place Saturday at the Mel Brodt Cross Country Course in Bowling Green.
The men's 8K race is scheduled to begin at 11 a.m. and the starting gun for the women's 6K race is will sound shortly after 12 p.m.
MAC Championships Coverage
Both races will be broadcast live on the Bowling Green State University YouTube channel with coverage starting at each respective time. Fans can also follow the action on the live results page.
Previewing the Flashes
The men's team spent most of the season in the top-15 of the NCAA DI Men's Cross Country Great Lakes Regional Coaches' Rankings and is No. 5 in the MAC Pre-Championship Coaches Poll. Junior Baidy Ba raced to his second career victory in his last meet, winning the men's Orange 8K at the XC23 Pre-Nationals meet on Oct. 14, and earned MAC Men's Cross Country Runner of the Week honors for his performance. The 2022 NCAA Championships qualifier has posted top-4 finishes in each race this season and will try to improve upon hist seventh-place finish at this meet last season. Senior Ethan Yost has been the second Golden Flash across the finish line in all four meets he has raced this season and will contend for all-conference honors.
Junior Sydney Gallagher has led the women's team in three of four races this season and set a 5K personal-best at the Tommy Evans Invitational to start the season. Two newcomers — junior Lany Straub and freshman Ella McCollom — have made key contributions and round out Kent State's top three runners.

Kent State will have a week off to get ready for the NCAA Great Lakes Regional Championships in Madison, Wisconsin on Nov. 10.
