
Kent State Visits Eastern Michigan for Final Road Volleyball Matches

The Kent State volleyball team will play on the road for the final time this season with two matches at Eastern Michigan this weekend. Both matches will be streamed on ESPN+.

PREVIEWING THE FLASHES
Kent State (6-20, 2-13 MAC) looks to bounce back after losing a pair of matches to Central Michigan this past weekend. The Golden Flashes played one of their best matches of the season the last time on the road, taking down Toledo 3-1 on Oct. 28.
Outside hitter Mackenzie McGuire leads the attack and ranks third in the Mid-American Conference with 3.90 kills per set. McGuire surpassed 500 career kills against Western Michigan on Oct. 5 and is averaging the most kills per set by a Golden Flash since the 2009 season. Outside hitter Logan Henderson has closed her freshman campaign strong and has provided a reliable pin option over the last 10 matches. Henderson has hit .293 and averaged 2.44 kills per set since the start of October.
The defense is led by libero Bryn Roberts, who ranks fourth in the conference in digs per set (4.23). Roberts tallied her 1,000th career dig against Miami on Oct. 13 and is fifth all-time in digs per set (3.28).
SCOUTING THE OPPOSITION
The Eagles (3-24, 1-14 MAC) have come out on top in just seven sets during conference play with the lone match victory coming against Miami on Oct. 27. Eastern Michigan ranks last in the MAC in hitting percentage (.146) and kills per set (11.02).
Outside hitter Callie Minshew leads the attack and ranks sixth in the conference with 3.57 kills per set. Setter Ellie McLoughlin is seventh in the MAC with 8.19 assists per set. Libero Hannah Howard leads the defense at 3.82 digs per set.
SERIES HISTORY
Kent State owns a 22-38-1 record all-time against Eastern Michigan. The Flashes have won two straight in the series, 3-0 last season in Ypsilanti and 3-1 at home in 2021.
