Meiszner Captures MAC Wrestling Honors

KENT- Billy Meiszner has been named the Mid-American Conference's co-West Division Wrestler of the Week for his efforts over the weekend against Lindenwood, SIU-E and Cal Baptist.
The New Lennox, Illinois native went 3-0 over the weekend with each victory coming in dominant fashion. He started Sunday with a 13-2 major decision victory in the Flashes' 42-0 shutout of Lindenwood. He closed the weekend with a 17-5 major decision against Cal Baptist as well.
It was the middle match that was his most impressive effort of the day. Meiszner went up against the number five wrestler in the MAC at 141 pounds, Danny Martinez of SIU-E. Meiszner came in ranked sixth in the MAC rankings. Meiszner dominated from the start, rolling to a 17-1 technical fall victory, getting the stoppage with 48 seconds left in the third period.
The wins improve Meiszner's record to 15-6 on the second, giving him the second-most wins on the squad this season.
