Sunset, SC... As the spring season has progressed the Kent State women's golf team has been heating up, posting a new high watermark in each of their last two events, with a sixth-place finish at the Trinity Forest Invitational and a fourth-place finish at the Florida State Match Up last week.
Now, the Flashes will turn their attention to one of the most challenging fields they've faced this season as the team prepares to play their second event in as many weeks.
Senior Mayka Hoogeboom has led the way in each of these last two tournaments, posting finishes of fifth and seventh respectively with several teammates not far behind.
Much like last year, this season's Clemson Invitational will be loaded with ranked opponents, as #3 LSU, #16 Vanderbilt, #17 Ole Miss and #22 Oklahoma State slot in alongside a slew of teams inside the GolfStat top-50, all grappling for a potential spot in the top 25 after this week.
The Invitational is set to kick off with a 9 AM eastern tee time on Friday, and Kent State will be paired with LSU, Oklahoma and Kentucky for the duration of the opening round.
