Sunset, SC... The Kent State women's golf team battled hard on Sunday but stayed put amidst a loaded field to close out this year's Clemson Invitational in tenth place.
"We didn't have our best stuff this week but the ladies were grinding today and finished the event with a good round," KSU head coach Casey VanDamme said. "We look forward to the next couple of weeks as we prepare for the final event of our regular season."
After leading the Flashes on the opening day of the event, freshman Leon Takagi carded a team-low 69 on Sunday to retake the team lead, and finish the Invitational in a tie for 22nd.
Noramol Nuchsila, Mayka Hoogeboom and Jennifer Gu all finished their weekends inside the top 50, with the two seniors posting scores of 72 and 71 respectively on a strong final day.
Knowledge of their home course allowed Clemson to lead through the first two days, but the Tigers would ultimately finish third behind #17 Ole Miss and #3 LSU.
The Flashes will be back in action for one final regular season event at the Lady Buckeye Invitational on April 15th before the MAC Championships on April 21st.
