
Track & Field Back in Action at Northeast Ohio Open

Kent State will compete in the state of Ohio for the second of four straight weekends as the outdoor track and field season continues at the Northeast Ohio Open.
Hosted by the University of Akron, the meet will begin Friday at 1 p.m. with the hammer throw and javelin throw.
The remaining events will take place on Saturday, beginning with the long jump and shot put at 11:30 a.m. Running events will get started at 12:50 p.m.

PREVIEWING THE FLASHES
Kent State has 61 student-athletes entered for competition.
The entrants are highlighted by 10 athletes currently ranked in the top-three on the Mid-American Conference performance list for the outdoor season. Nolan Landis (men's discus throw), Aaron Schmook (men's javelin throw) and Ethan Yost (men's 800m) own the top marks in the conference in their respective events. Meghan Daly (women's shot put), Lillie Franks (women's high jump), Amare Hall (men's long jump), Kristian Kneffler (men's pole vault), Angelina Lotarski (women's pole vault), Aliesha Shaw (women's discus throw) and Kyle Sommer (men's 200m) round out the group.
Additionally, two Flashes who earned all-conference honors at the 2022 MAC Outdoor Championships will make their outdoor season debuts. Asa Hodrick is entered in the men's 100-meter dash and 200-meter dash, while Scott Benco will throw the javelin.
NEXT UP FOR KENT STATE
The Golden Flashes will travel to Ohio University for the Cherry Blossom Invitational on April 15.
