
Golden Flashes take on Ball State in MAC Contest

The Kent State field hockey team (2-7, 1-1 MAC) travels to Indiana for a Mid-American Conference contest to face off against Ball State (5-4, 2-0 MAC) on Saturday, Sept. 30 at 12 p.m.
About the Flashes
Kent State suffered its first MAC loss on Friday against Ohio University, 3-2. Freshman Eva Usoz scored her team leading fifth goal in the third minute and sophomore Iris Bekker made it 2-1 in a penalty stroke goal in the final five minutes. Sophomore Patricia Strunk is tied for the MAC lead forces.
Scouting Ball State
The Cardinals have a five-game win streak after posting shutouts last week against Central Michigan and Lindenwood. Fleur Knopert is tied for fourth nationally with 11 goals and scored three times in both games last week.
The Series
Kent State is 39-33 over Ball State. The Flashes currently hold a 13-game win streak, including a 7-0 victory in the last matchup in 2022.
Up Next
The Flashes take on App State in North Carolina on Friday, Oct. 6 at 3 p.m. Kent State then begins a four-game home stand at Murphy-Mellis Field against Ohio State on Sunday, Oct. 8 at 1 p.m.
