Gilkison Wins MAC Golfer of the Week

KENT, Ohio – It was announced on Friday that Kent State's Jordan Gilkison has won the MAC Men's Golfer of the Week award. The senior earns the honor for the first time in his decorated four-year Flashes career.
Gilkison finished tied for seventh place among 84 golfers competing at this week's Fighting Irish Classic. After an opening-round 3-over-par 73, he responded with resilient performances in rounds two and three. Gilkison concluded the event with two consecutive rounds in the 60s, including a second-round 3-under-par 67 before ending his week with a 1-under-par 69 in round three. He recorded ten birdies across 54 holes of play to accumulate a final score of 1-under-par on the par-70 Warren Golf Course.
Kent State sweeps the men's and women's MAC Golfer of the Week awards for this week after Veronika Kedronova was awarded the women's honor on Thursday.
Gilkison and the Flashes return to action on Monday, October 14, as they host the Golden Flash Individual at the Country Club of Hudson.
