Flashes Finish Sixth at Mercedes Benz Collegiate

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. – The Kent State women's golf team concluded their final event of the Fall season on Tuesday with the final round of the Mercedes Benz Collegiate contested at Cherokee Country Club. The Flashes fired a 4-over-par 288 as a team to finish at 31-over-par and in sixth place among the 13 teams competing.
The Flashes were once again led by Veronika Kedronova. After winning the Sunflower Invitational in her previous appearance, the sophomore recorded her fourth top-ten finish of the season at the Mercedes Benz Collegiate. Kedronova utilized two eagles in round three to overcome two double bogeys, finishing the round with a 1-over-par 73 and concluding the tournament at 3-over-par, the best finish among the Flashes, to finish tied for tenth among the 73 golfers competing.
Isabella Goyette had a strong final round to record the second-best finish among Flashes. She recorded the lowest third-round score by a Kent State golfer with a 2-under-par 69. Goyette concludes the event at 9-over-par and tied for 26th.
Leon Takagi recorded a solid final round on Tuesday, closing her week with a four-birdie 2-over-par 73. She concludes the Mercedes Benz Collegiate at 10-over-par and tied for 32nd place. Gracie Larsen rounded out the countable third-round scores toward the Kent State team total, recording a 3-over-par 74, highlighted by a consistent 15 pars. Larsen finished tied for 47th among the individual standings.
The Miami Hurricanes ultimately reigned supreme, posting a 54-hole team score of 10-over-par, five strokes ahead of runner-up Campbell.
This concludes the Flashes' Fall season as they will not participate in another official event until the Puerto Rico Classic in February 2025.
