Kent State to Continue Midweek MACtion on the Road at Miami (OH)

KENT - The Kent State Golden Flashes football team continues Mid-American Conference play this Wednesday night Nov. 13 at 7:00 p.m. on the road against the Redhawks of Miami University. The game will be broadcast on ESPNU.
Kent State is 18-52 all-time against Miami. The Golden Flashes last won at Yager Stadium, 48-32, on Nov. 10, 2012. The RedHawks have won four straight home matchups in the series since then.
Ruel Tomlinson took all the QB reps last week against Ohio, becoming Kent State's first true freshman to get a starting nod at the position since Mylik Mitchell at #1 Alabama during Week 4 of the 2016 season. Tomlinson was the third different starting QB the Golden Flashes have used this season. Devin Kargman started the first four games prior to a season-ending injury. Tommy Ulatowski then started the first four MAC games.
Safety Josh Baka made a career-high 18 tackles, including 12 solo stops, against the Bobcats last week. This is the most tackles by a KSU defender since Kevin Bourne had 21 in the 2016 season finale.
Wide receiver Chrishon McCray has been among the MAC's top pass catchers since the start of conference play. McCray has caught 22 balls for 473 yards and 5 TDs in 5 MAC games. In last season's matchup, McCray had career-high 10 catches for 105 yards against the RedHawk secondary. Kent State has been among the most disciplined teams in the country, ranking sixth among FBS teams in fewest penalty yards per game (32.44) and ninth in fewest penalties per games (4.33).
Following this Wednesday, Kent State will continue Midweek MACtion o Tuesday, Nov. 19 with the Wagon Wheel on the line as the Flashes host Akron. Kickoff is scheduled for 7:00 p.m., 7:30 p.m., or 8:00 p.m.
