KENT - The Kent State Golden Flashes football team continues Mid-American Conference play this Wednesday night at 7:00 p.m. at home in Dix Stadium against the Bobcats of Ohio University.
This will be the second matchup against Ohio of the #KentGRIT under the direction of head coach Kenni Burns. The teams went to overtime for the first time in series history the last time the teams met at Dix Stadium on Oct. 1, 2022. The Golden Flashes won that meeting 31-24 after Marquez Cooper scored a rushing TD on the opening possession and the defense got a stop. Kent State is 27-47-2 all-time against Ohio, and 12-24-1 all-time as the home team.
The offense has exploded since Tommy Ulatowski took over as QB1 to start MAC play, averaging 23.8 points and 334.3 yards per game in four contests against conference opponents. Ulatowski set a new passing yards career-high in each of his first two starts, recording 345 against Eastern Michigan on Sept. 28 and then 394 against Ball State on Oct. 12. He was responsible for four TDs in both games.
Wide receiver Chrishon McCray has been the go-to target and the pair have connected for 445 yards and five scores over the past four games. Wide receiver Jay Jay Etheridge and TE Conner Muldowney caught their first TDs in a Kent State in the last game at Western Michigan on Oct. 26.
Wednesday's game will air on ESPNU as well as the Kent State Radio Network. Rob Polinsky and Tom Evans will have the call starting at 6:30 p.m. Dane Richardson will be pacing the sideline for in-game updates. The game is Military Appreciation Night. The first 1,500 fans in attendance will receive a paracord bracelet. The 500 students will receive camo MACtion t-shirts. Tickets, packages and more are available at KSUTix.com.
