KENT, Ohio — Women's basketball head coach Todd Starkey recently signed a trio from the 2025 high school class. Anna Campanelli, Caitlyn Holmes and Rylee Kalocay will join Kent State's roster for the 2025-26 season.
"This class has exceptional talent and was recruited to help us pursue Mid-American Conference championships," Starkey said. "All three are exceptional on and off the court and will fit right in with our Kent State Women's Basketball family."
Anna Campanelli | 5-10, Guard | Huntley, Ill.
Campanelli earned IBCA All-State special mention honors as a junior, leading Huntley High School to a third consecutive Fox Valley Conference championship. She averaged 14.1 points, 4.7 rebounds, 3.7 assists and 2.5 steals per game for the Red Raiders last season.
"Anna has our staff very excited about her toughness and overall game. She is already a phenomenal defender and is poised to develop into one of the top two-way players on our roster. We expect big things from her early on in her career."
Caitlyn Holmes | 5-8, Point Guard | Akron, Ohio
Holmes needed less than three full seasons to move to the top of Ellet High School's all-time scoring list and is a two-time All-Ohio selection. She is also a two-time City Series Player of the Year and has led the Orangemen to three consecutive conference championships.
"Caitlyn is a dynamic playmaker in the open court and has the talent to change games with her explosiveness and knack for scoring. We are very excited about her very high ceiling."
Rylee Kalocay | 5-8, Guard | Pittsburgh, Pa.
Kalocay has been a starter in each of her first three seasons at Upper St. Clair High School and reached the 1,000-point milestone as a junior. She was named a member of the Post-Gazette Fabulous Five as a sophomore after leading the Panthers to the WPIAL title game and 23-4 record.
"Rylee is a fierce competitor with blow-by speed and is lethal from the perimeter. We are so ready to see how her game translates to the Division I level."
