Gymnastics Set to Open 2024-25 Season with Blue-Gold Meet

KENT, Ohio – The Kent State gymnastics team is slated to begin the 2024-25 season with the program's annual Blue-Gold meet at the MAC Center. The meet is set for Sunday, December 8 at 1 p.m.
Admission is free for all, and the Golden Flashes will be signing autographs after the meet for all fans in attendance.
ABOUT THE FLASHES
Kent State enters the 2024-25 season following a team appearance at the Michigan Regional to conclude 2024, the program's 30th NCAA regional berth. The Flashes also claimed their tenth MAC regular season championship in 2024, posting a 5-1 conference record.
The Flashes return 17 gymnasts from last season, including 2024 All-MAC second-teamer Heidi Schultz. The Kent State roster features six freshmen – Sophia Balko, Jersey Bingman, Allie Call, Gabriela Espinoza, Isabella Marques, and Anika Most - set to make their first appearances in the MAC Center on Sunday.
FLASHBACK TO LAST YEAR'S BLUE-GOLD MEETÂ Â Â
Last year, the blue team emerged victorious. Schultz won the all-around title with a 39.375, followed closely by Dani Fuertez and Nastia Rudnitskaya. Nene Alvine took home the beam title with a 9.950, while Fuertez won on the floor with a 9.950.
UP NEXT
The Golden Flashes will open the 2025 regular season with a home tri-meet as they welcome Fisk and Wilberforce to the MAC Center on Friday, January 10, at 7 p.m.
Kent State competed alongside Fisk at last season's Tennessee Collegiate Classic, where the Flashes recorded a program-record all-around score of 197.725.
