
Women’s Track and Field Aims for Gold at MAC Indoor Championships

The Kent State women's track and field team is set for competition at the 2024 Mid-American Conference Indoor Championships. The meet will be held at Bob Parks Track inside the Bowen Field House at Eastern Michigan University.
Competition begins at 10 a.m. on both Friday and Saturday, Feb. 23-24. A complete meet schedule is available on the championship central page.
SPECTATOR INFO
The championship meet is a ticketed event. The full list of ticket links is available HERE. Parking will be available for free at Bowen Field House. Tickets can be purchased at Bowen Field House on each day of the meet.
THE GOLDEN FLASHES
Kent State enters the meet ranked first in the MAC in this week's USTFCCCA Track & Field Rating Index.
The Golden Flashes have seven individuals and one relay ranked in the top three entering the meet in their respective events.
In the sprints, Jericha Petrella is ranked second in the 400-meter dash. The 4x400-meter relay team is seeded first.
In the pentathlon, Svenia De Coninck enters with the third-best performance. De Coninck is also ranked third in the high jump.
In field events, Grace Luther is at the top of the league in the weight throw. Fellow throwers Gabby Bailey and Aliesha Shaw are ranked second and third, respectively, in the shot put. Bailey captured gold in the event back in 2021 when she earned All-American status by placing sixth at nationals.
Lanee Hall and Keeli Dunaway are seeded in silver and bronze positions in the triple jump.

Kent State athletes that finish in the top 16 nationally in their respective events will qualify for the NCAA Indoor Track and Field Championships, which will be held in Boston, Massachusetts from March 8-9.
