Flashes Place Three in Top 20, Tie for 4th at Jackrabbit Invitational

Leon Takagi, Veronika Kedronova, and Hester Sicking all secured top 20 finishes the past two days at the Jackrabbit Invitational in Boulder City, Nevada. As a team, KSU tied for 4th among the 13 team field.

Takagi stayed steady throughout the three rounds, shooting a score of 71 in her first and final 18 holes to finish at even par. The sophomore tied for 10th among the 76 golfer field, giving her a 6th top 20 finish in eight tournaments. The result was also the 4th top ten finish of the season for Takagi.

Right behind Takagi was freshman standout Veronika Kedronova placing 14th. Kedronova knocked in 12 birdies over the three rounds, with her best score being a 71 during the second round of play.

Hester Sicking was the biggest riser over the final 18 for KSU, spurting up 14 spots while shooting a team best round of 69 (-3). Sicking led the Flashes in birdies in the tournament with 13, with seven of them coming in the final round.

Jennifer Gu notched her second top 30 finish of the year, placing 28th. Gu's best round also came over the final 18, shooting a 72 (E).

The Golden Flashes will compete one more time in the month of March, heading Southwest to Ardmore, Oklahoma to play in the Bruzzy Invitational on March 30th and 31st, hosted by the University of North Texas.
