Flashes Head to Pittsburgh to Wrap Road Trip

KENT- The Golden Flashes wrap a four-game road trip on Tuesday, traveling to the steel city to take on the Pitt Panthers for a 3 p.m. first pitch.
Kent State is coming off a 22-4 run-rule win against Ohio, taking the finale against the Bobcats. Josh Johnson drove in seven runs on the day and scored four runs as part of a 4-for-5 day at the plate. He is now hitting .464 in MAC play and .338 overall. His 22 RBI lead the team and tied for fourth in the conference while his 14 steals lead the conference. Johnson leads a balanced Flashes' offense with six players in double figure RBI through 19 games this season.
The Flashes will likely send Rocco Bernadina to the bump on Tuesday as the right hander makes his third consecutive mid-week start. The western Pennsylvania native went three shutout innings against Youngstown State, allowing only one hit and striking out four.
Pitt comes into the game at 10-7 overall and dropped the final two games of their weekend series with Boston College. Former Golden Flash Tyler Bischke leads the Panthers with a .361 average, one of seven players with an average north of .300.
The Panthers have pitched to a 5.52 team earned run average. Kyle Mosley got the last mid-week start, going 1.1 innings, allowing three runs, two earned and struck out a pair.
