
Men's 4x100-relay Shatters Program Record, Flashes set a Dozen All-Time Marks in Durham, N.C.

DURHAM, N.C. –The men's 4x100-meter relay squad of Logan Doyle, Sean Callahan Jr., Dejon Manning, and Jaheim Jones took down a 19-year-old school record to lead the Kent State Track and Field teams at the Duke Invitational this weekend. In total, the Flashes set 12 new top-ten all-time marks. The meet was not team-scored.
On Thursday the hammer throwers got the action started as Grace Luther set a personal best of 187' 3" en route to a fifth-place finish. Donovan Crawford also posted a personal best of 172' 6".
Friday saw impressive performances across the board for KSU. In the field events, Tianna McCormick set a season-best in the high jump with a leap of 5' 5". In the men's competition Liam Vinskovich took home the win with a jump of 6' 10 ¾". Gabby Bailey took second place in the women's discus and Alex Shields was fourth in the men's long jump.
On the track, Taylor Korytkowski and Amryne Chilton ran times of 24.11 and 24.19 to move on to 6th and 8th on the all-time list, respectively. In the men's race, Jaheim Jones set the meet record with a time of 20.57, his performance ranks him fifth-best in program history. In the men's 800-meter race, Quintin Cooks set a personal best of 1:49.04 to move up to 3rd on the all-time list. In the invite section of the 1500-meter run, Trey Double set a personal best of 3:48.77.
On Saturday, the action started on the track with the men's 4x100 team of Doyle, Callahan Jr., Manning, and Jones setting the school record in 39.69 seconds. The Flashes weren't done there, adding six more performances to the record book. In the women's 100-meter hurdles, Alexa Nestor and Andrea Filote ran personal best times of 13.97 and 13.99 to move to 9th and 10th all-time in the event. In the men's 110-meter hurdles, Shields set a personal best of 13.92 to improve his no. 3 all-time performance. In the 400-meter dash, Jericha Petrella set a personal best of 54.25 to move to 8th in program history. The women's 4x400-meter relay squad of Chilton, Korytkowski, Petrella, and Ruby Greenwood ran the third-best time in program history of 3:40.39 to place fourth.
In the field events, Lanee Hall placed second with a hop, skip, and jump of 40' 7" that moves her to 9th in school history. Keeli Dunaway jumped 39' 5" to earn a fifth-place finish. Kristian Kneffler placed fourth in the men's pole vault with a jump of 17' 2¾". In the men's shot put Nolan Landis claimed fifth place with a toss of 54' 8 ¾".

The Golden Flashes will head to the Jim Green Invitational in Lexington, Ky., and the 54th Sparky Adams Invitational in Berea, Ohio.
