
Vinskovich's Victory leads Flashes in Kentucky

LEXINGTON, Ky. – Liam Vinskovich cleared 6' 10" in the high jump to claim the win and lead the Kent State Track and Field teams at the Jim Green Invitational on Saturday. The Flashes claimed one event win, four second-place finishes, and nine other top-five finishes, including one new all-time mark. The meet was hosted by the University of Kentucky at Shively Stadium and was not team-scored.
On Friday, Marianna Atanmo finished third in the women's 400-meter hurdles to lead the women's squad, while Scott Benco took second in the javelin with a throw of 197' 8". In the men's 800 Quintin Cooks continued his impressive outdoor season with a 1:50.47 to claim fifth place and Baidy Ba was fourth in the 1500-meter run in 3:47.43.
Gabby Bailey took second in the discus on Saturday while Aliesha Shaw claimed fourth. They posted throws of 180' 5" and 170' 10". In the women's high jump, Grace Adekoge was fourth clearing 5'7". Layne Studer and Alex Shields took second in the pole vault and 110-meter hurdles. Studer cleared 16' 3" and Shields ran 13.94 seconds. The women's 4x400-meter team of Amryne Chilton, Taylor Korytkowski, Jericha Petrella, and Ruby Greenwood took the lone third-place finish of the day finishing in 3:41.91. Trey Double took fourth in the 800-meter run with 1:53.63 and Anna Jones also took fourth in the women's 800-meter run with a time of 2:15.65. Jaheim Jones also claimed a fourth-place finish in the 100-meter run, finishing in 10.39 seconds. His time ranks him ninth in program history.

The Golden Flashes will head to Louisville, Ky. for the Clark Wood Invitational on April 26-27.
