Soccer Signs Nine Recruits for 2024 Season

KENT, Ohio – The Kent State soccer team will welcome seven incoming freshmen and two transfers for the 2024 season as the Golden Flashes will look to make their third Mid-American Conference Championship appearance in the last four years.
The new batch of recruits includes three forwards, three midfielders, two defenders, and one goalkeeper.Â
"We are really looking forward to this group joining our program," head coach Rob Marinaro said. "This is a wonderful group of people that have been successful on and off the field. Not only is this group talented, but we feel they will be a great addition to the culture we are building."
Jules Dolinski | Forward | Sparta, N.J.
Dolinski was a four-year team member at Sparta High School, totaling a school-record 178 career points with 72 goals and 34 assists. A three-time NJAC champion and First Team All-Conference selection, Dolinski earned Second Team All-State honors, was named a top-20 player in the state of New Jersey, and was a 2023 High School All-America Game nominee after her senior season. Dolinski was also named the 2023 Sparta MVP. She played her club soccer for PDA, winning the North Atlantic Conference three times and making it to the Elite 8 of the ECNL national tournament in 2022.Â
Addy Cusick | Forward/Midfielder | Medina, Ohio
Cusick was a four-year starter and senior captain at Medina High School. During her senior campaign, Cusick led the Bees in goals scored en route to First-team All-Ohio, First-Team All-Greater Cleveland Conference, First-team Greater Akron SSCA All-District, All-Central Region, and All-Gazette honors. Cusick played her club ball for Internationals SC and Cleveland Force SC and was an ODP Regional Pool player for four years. She was a National Honors Society member all four years in high school while also running track and competing in gymnastics.Â
Katie Henahan | Midfielder | Oakville, Ontario
Henahan was a multi-sport standout at École Secondaire Catholique Sainte-Trinité, being named the 2023 soccer MVP, the 2022 volleyball and cross country MVP, and the 2022 Athlete of the Year. She led Les Loups to a Halton League championship on the pitch in 2022 and 2023 and a championship on the hardwood in 2023. Henahan played club soccer for Burlington Force Academy, winning the Ontario Cup in 2023. She is the tenth-ranked player in FTF Canada's 2024 class. She plans on majoring in general business while at Kent State.
Allison Collins | Defender | Toronto, Ontario
Collins was the eighth-ranked player in the 2024 class per FTF Canada. She received an invite to the FTF Top 60 camp and earned First XI Team honors. Collins played club soccer for Genesis Football Academy and North Mississauga Soccer Club, earning FTF All Star honors. At Father John Redmond Catholic Secondary School, she was named the varsity MVP for both indoor and outdoor soccer while earning a spot on the honor roll all four years. Collins also played basketball, softball, flag football, and ran track for the Redhawks. At Kent State, she plans on majoring in exercise science.Â
Emma Klein | Goalkeeper | Vaughan, Ontario
Klein earned a spot on the 2023 Ontario Provincial team, being named the team captain and MVP of the squad. She was also named to the FTF All-Star team and was selected as the FTF Toronto Combine Goalkeeper MVP. Klein played her club ball with the Simcoe Rovers and was a standout at Father Bressani Catholic, being named the soccer MVP. She earned mathematics and science awards while also participating in volleyball and basketball. Klein plans on studying biology while at Kent State.Â
Ava Lukyan | Midfielder | Vernon Hills, Ill.
Lukyan played her club ball for GLSA FC 1974, winning the USYS national championship in 2022. She helped lead her club to two Midwest Regionals and the 2021 Illinois State Cup championship. Lukyan was selected for the Continental Tire ECNL RL selection game and was drafted for the "team player of the event" in the National League PRO. At Vernon Hills, Lukyan led the Cougars in goals scored each of the last two seasons, earning All-Sectional honors after her senior campaign. She also played tennis and ran track in high school, setting the school record in the 4x100m. A National Honors Society member and four-year High Honor Roll student, Lukyan plans on studying marketing and business at Kent State.
Ali Weibel | Defender | Lebanon, Ohio
Weibel appeared in 73 games at Springboro High School, scoring six goals and adding nine assists from her spot in the back line. She was a four-time All-Conference, two-time All-District, two-time All-Area, and All-Ohio selection for the Panthers. Weibel played club soccer for Ohio Elite, earning 2022-23 ECNL Ohio Valley All-Conference recognition. She also played for Kings Hammer FC in the USL W. She plans on studying computer science at Kent State.Â
Thea Helen Oberhoff | Midfielder | Bremen, Germany
One of two transfers in this year's class, Oberhoff comes to Kent after spending one year at Daytona State where she helped lead the Falcons to a 14-2 record, scoring two goals and adding an assist. Originally from Germany, Oberhoff was named team captain of both u15 and u17 SV Werder Bremen. She helped lead her squad to a North German championship in 2017, 2019, and 2021 and was named the Snow Cup MVP. Oberhoff attended u15 German National Team courses and played in the One Nation Cup in Japan. She plans on studying psychology at Kent State.
Kate Thill | Forward | Goetzingen, Luxembourg
Thill spent the past three seasons at the University of Bridgeport, appearing in 60 games for the Purple Knights and making 51 starts. In her college career, Thill totaled 78 points on 34 goals and 10 assists. Last season, she netted 13 goals and added four assists, ranking first and second on the team respectively, and was named Tournament MVP as she led the Knights to their second-straight CACC Tournament title. Thill also earned First Team All-CACC and CCA All-East Region honors in the 2023 campaign. She plans on studying sport administration while at Kent State
