
Bailey Punches Ticket to NCAA Championships in Discus

LEXINGTON, Ky. – The Kent State women's team will be represented at the 2024 NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships in early June by Gabby Bailey, who qualified in the discus throw on the final day of competition at the NCAA East Regional meet.
Bailey punched her ticket with a throw of 185'-2" on her final throw after her first a foul on each of her first two attempts. Seeded 10th going into the competition, she placed seventh to advance to the NCAA Championships for the third time in the event. Bailey posted top-18 national finishes in 2021 and 2022 before taking a redshirt last year. The discus throw is scheduled for Saturday, June 8 at 5:05 p.m. ET at the NCAA meet.
Aliesha Shaw also competed in the discus for the Golden Flashes and placed 32nd with a throw of 162'-2".
In the high jump, Svenia De Coninck cleared two bars and finished in a tie for 42nd with a height of 5'-7.25".
