Women's Golf to Tee Off at Las Vegas Regional Monday

KENT, Ohio – The Kent State women's golf team is set to hit the course at the 2024 NCAA Women's Golf Las Vegas Regional on Monday.
The Golden Flashes are the No. 10 seed in the 12-team field in the desert following Sunday's practice round. The top five teams and the low individual not on an advancing team from each regional site will advance to compete in the national championships to be played May 17-22 at Omni La Costa Resort and Spa in Carlsbad, California.
The Flashes are coming off of a Mid-American Conference Championship, the 25th in program history, and remain the only school in the conference to hoist the trophy. The three low-scorers in the championship event all call Kent State home – Leon Takagi and Hester Sicking tied atop the leaderboard at 6-over par while Veronika Kedronova placed third overall.Â
The trio all earned a spot on the All-MAC First Team as well as the MAC All-Tournament Team. Takagi was also named the MAC Golfer of the Year while Kedronova earned Freshman of the Year honors after a stellar debut season. Head coach Casey VanDamme was named MAC Coach of the Year for the second consecutive season.
Kent State's lineup for the week at Spanish Trail Country Club features Takagi, Kedronova , Sicking,  Jennifer Gu, and Kristen Belden. Designed by Robert Trent Jones, Jr., Spanish Trail Country Club is a par-72 and will play at 6,665 yards.Â
The Flashes will tee it up starting on Hole 10 at 8:55 a.m. Pacific time and will be paired with Xavier and Dartmouth. Live scoring can be found here.
