KENT, Ohio — The Kent State University Athletics Department is excited to celebrate the 50th year of varsity competition for five of its women's team during the upcoming year. The 2024-25 season will mark the 50th for the Basketball, Field Hockey, Softball, Outdoor Track and Field, and Volleyball programs.
As part of the year-long celebration of milestones, the Golden Flashes will host an alumni celebration around a home event during each sport's competition season. The trailblazers who played for these teams prior to varsity status (1975-1976) will be honored and included in the celebrations.
Festivities for Field Hockey (Sept. 13-14) and Volleyball (Nov. 2) alumni are scheduled for the fall, with the remaining dates to be announced in the coming months. For more information, contact Kate Lewis at thegoldenflashesclub@kent.edu.
