Malanda Named MAC Field Athlete of the Week Following Record-Breaking Performance

CLEVELAND – Kent State senior Alexandre Malanda was named Mid-American Conference Men's Field Athlete of the Week honors, the league office announced on Tuesday.
Malanda broke the school triple jump record with a mark of 53'-5.65" on his final attempt at the season-opening Jud Logan Memorial, which gives him a No. 2 national ranking in the event.
Kent State returns to action at the Penn State National Open on Friday, Jan. 31 and Saturday, Feb. 1.
