
Track and Field Back in Action at Penn State National Open

The Kent State track and field program will be in action for the second time this season at the Penn State National Open on Friday and Saturday. Both days of competition will be streamed on BTN+.
COMPETITION SCHEDULE
The women's weight throw will open the meet at 3:30 p.m. on Friday with the women's 60-meter hurdles prelims slated to start running events at 4 p.m. Friday's action will conclude around 9 p.m.
On Saturday, competition starts on the track with the unseeded women's 600-meter run. Field events will begin at 11 a.m. with the women's high jump, men's high jump and men's shot put. The meet will wrap around 5 p.m.
PREVIEWING THE FLASHES
Kent State has 55 student-athletes entered for competition, including seven who rank among the top-3 in the Mid-American Conference in their respective events. Keeli Dunaway owns the best national ranking at No. 65 in the women's triple jump with a personal-best and MAC-leading mark of 41'-0.25".
Donovan Crawford (men's weight throw), Amare Hall (men's long jump), Jaheim Jones (men's 60m), and Layne Studer (men's pole vault) are all second in the conference, while Amryne Chilton is third in the women's 60-meter dash with a PR of 7.51 seconds and Zamen Siyoum is third in the men's 60-meter hurdles.

The Golden Flashes will head to Ashland University next weekend for the Jud Logan Light Giver Open on Friday, Feb. 7 and Saturday, Feb. 8.
