
Kent State Beaten at Home for First Time by Ohio

KENT, Ohio โ Kent State suffered its first loss of the season at the M.A.C. Center, as Ohio recorded a 3-0 (23-25, 18-25, 14-25) victory during a Mid-American Conference matchup on Tuesday.
The Golden Flashes (7-9, 2-3 MAC) hadย trouble against the Bobcats' stellar block and finished the night with a season-low .045 hitting percentage. Redshirt sophomore Adalynn Ginley led the way with eight kills and five blocks, while junior Christina Vigil added 24 assists and nine digs.
Kent State started the night with a 12-6 lead in the first set and maintained a three-point advantage as the opener neared an end. After Ohio evened it at 22-22, a service error put the Flashes back ahead. An attack error tied it for the seventh time, and the Bobcats earned the go-ahead point on an extended rally before winning on a bad set.
After leading by as many as three points earlyย in the second set, Kent State struggled to slow down Ohio's offense and lost 25-18. The Bobcats totaled six blocks during the third set en route to finishing the sweep.
Kent State will be back in action on Thursday and Friday with road contests against Eastern Michigan.
