
Women’s Golf Set to Open Spring Season in Puerto Rico

KENT, Ohio - The Kent State women's golf team returns to action following winter break on Sunday with the opening round of the Puerto Rico Classic. The tournament kicks off a Spring season which the Flashes hope will conclude with a 26th consecutive MAC championship.

Notes:
- The Golden Flashes enter the Spring after a Fall season in which they recorded a top-six finish in every event and a top-four finish in three of four tournaments. Kent State posted a season-best team score of 870 at the Red Raider Invitational in September, where they finished fourth in the field of 16 teams.
- Veronika Kedronova had a stellar sophomore Fall season for the Flashes, earning the second and third individual wins of her career at the Red Raider Invitational and the Marilynn Smith Sunflower Invitational. Kedronova carries a team-best 72.53 scoring average through 15 rounds of play in the Fall, including eight rounds of par or better. She currently ranks number 93 among Division I women's golfers, according to scoreboard.
- After a stellar Fall season to open her collegiate career in which she appeared in the Flashes' lineup in every event, Isabella Goyette remains in the Kent State lineup to open in the Spring. The freshman concluded her Fall with a season-best 69 in round three of the Mercedes Benz Classic.
- Jennifer Gu is set to appear in the Flashes' lineup to open the final Spring season of her collegiate career. The former MAC Freshman of the Year will look to conclude her senior season with a fourth consecutive MAC championship.
- The Flashes face tough competition in the Puerto Rico Classic, with a field consisting of eight teams in the top 30 of scoreboard's team rankings.
