CLEVELAND โ Kent State senior Jenna Batsch has been named to the All-MAC First Team, as the Mid-American Conference announced the All-MAC Teams and specialty award selections for the 2024-25 women's basketball season on Tuesday. Additionally, sophomore Janae Tyler was an All-MAC Honorable Mention selection.
Batsch is third in the conference in scoring with an average of 17.1 points per game. She enters the MAC Tournament with 531 points, which is just 13 away from moving into the top-10 scoring seasons in Golden Flashes history. Batsch has scored at least 10 points in 30 consecutive games, which is tied for the sixth longest active streak in Division I. In addition to her scoring, she leads Kent State in steals (39) and second in assists (120) and blocked shots (14).
Tyler posted averages of 11.6 points and 5.1 rebounds per game while moving into the starting lineup this season. In her most recent game, she recorded her first career double-double with 21 points and 12 rebounds against rival Akron on March 1.
Kent State begins the quest for back-to-back MAC Tournament championships for the first time in program history Wednesday against Miami. Tip from Rocket Arena in Cleveland is expected around 1:30 p.m.
